Arsenal notched a significant win last weekend, getting the better of Tottenham in an entertaining north London derby.
The Gunners have won all but one of their Premier League matches this term, and have an 11-point lead over Liverpool, albeit having played an extra match.
Liverpool drew 3-3 with Brighton last weekend, but got a much-needed win over Rangers in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side is expected to persevere with the front four system he used in midweek, while Mikel Arteta will return to his favoured XI after rotation against Bodo/Glimt.
Total Goals: Over 2.5
Over 2.5 has hit in seven of Arsenal’s eight league matches. It’s five of seven for Liverpool.
This price might seem short, but there is still value at 8/13. Both defences have looked fragile at times, and the attacks are very hard to stop.
Arsenal are second in expected goals generated this term, just two places ahead of Liverpool.
Arteta and Klopp will not change their approach to try and limit risk. Both have a set way they want their team to play, which will leave a lot of space behind the respective defences.
This is traditionally an entertaining fixture, and that trend should continue this weekend.
To Be Shown A Card: Trent Alexander-Arnold
A lot has been made of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive woes, and rightly so. Alexander-Arnold has been shambolic in defence this season, often switching off in crucial moments or not making sufficient effort.
Arsenal, like most sides, will target Liverpool’s right-hand side as a result. The Gunners are already a threat down their left with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Martinelli combining to play some great football this season.
Martinelli could torment Alexander-Arnold on Sunday. He’s a good bet to pick up his third card of the Premier League campaign.
Anytime Goalscorer: Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah has just two league goals from 3.2 expected goals. Salah has enjoyed a lot of success against Arsenal in the past, recording 12 goal contributions in 11 Premier League appearances against the Gunners.
Arsenal were exposed on the break by Tottenham at times. Salah will have space to attack, and he’s broken out of a bit of a slump with two goals in three matches in all competitions.
