Match Odds: Spain to win
La Rioja are unbeaten in the Nations League so far and clinched their first win of the group stages on Thursday, beating Switzerland 1-0.
That result lifted them to second in League A Group 2 on five points, two points behind leaders Portugal.
Spain, like many other of Europe’s leading nations, have been well below their best during this international break. But their recent home form and impressive tournament pedigree means they should be backed to get the job done.
Luis Enrique’s side have won four and drawn one of their last five matches on their own patch, while they reached the 2020/21 Nations League final last October, just a few months on from losing the Euro 2020 semi-finals on penalties.
Czech Republic started their campaign with a 2-1 win over Switzerland before drawing with Spain – a game that they probably should have won, having twice gone in the lead.
But Jaroslav Silhavy’s side were well beaten last time out, losing 2-0 to Portugal.
Both Teams to Score: Yes
This is an appealing bet at odds against.
Both teams have scored in two of Spain and Czech Republic’s three Nations League matches so far, including the aforementioned 2-2 draw.
Anytime Goalscorer: Alvaro Morata
Alvaro Morata isn’t an elite striker, but his 26 goals in 55 caps makes him by far Spain’s most reliable scorer.
Morata has netted four goals in his last four home internationals, including against Portugal in the opening group game of this tournament.
Most Corners: Spain
Spain had eight corners compared to Czech Republic’s three in the reverse fixture and the same outcome is likely here.
