New Crystal Palace Manager Odds 2023

Crystal Palace have sacked manager Patrick Vieira. The Eagles are yet to win in 2023, a sequence of 12 matches.

Palace lost 1-0 to traditional rivals Brighton on Wednesday. Prior to that they had gone three consecutive games without a shot on target. Vieira led Palace to 12^th place last season, playing exciting football. However, this season they have struggled for goals. They currently sit in 12^th place, however, the bottom of the table is incredibly compact this season, with only five points separating the bottom nine teams. The Selhurst Park outfit are only three points above 18th-placed Bournemouth, who have a game in hand.

Osian Roberts, Kristian Wilson and Said Aigoun – have also left the club and the process of appointing a new manager is under way. Under-21 coach Paddy McCarthy took training on Friday morning and will be in charge against Arsenal on Sunday. McCarthy will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Dean Kielu and under-21s assistant Darren Powell.

Former boss Hodgson an option

Former manager Roy Hodgson is an early favourite. If Hodgson was to be appointed it would possibly be only on a short term contract until the end of the season.

Former Nice boss Lucien Favre has been mentioned along with former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch and Ralph Hassenhuttl, who left Southampton in November.

Ange Postecoglou of Celtic has been mentioned, with some feeling that he could be tempted away from the Scottish champions to have a crack at the Premier League.

Former Newcastle United, Real Madrid and Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has recently stated that he wants a return to the Premier League. The Spaniard could be an option for the Palace board.
