Liverpool v Wolves Betting Tips & Predictions

Liverpool were stunned by Brentford in the Premier League last time out.

Their focus now turns to defending the FA Cup with the visit of an improved Wolves team. Julen Lopetegui appears to have had an immediate impact on the Midlands club, with two wins, a draw and a lone loss since domestic action resumed.

Cody Gakpo could make his first start for Liverpool here. Virgil van Dijk, Arthur, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are all unavailable for the hosts.

Wolves are waiting on the fitness of Daniel Podence, while Boubacar Kamara has joined Chinquinho, Pedro Neto and Sasa Kalajdzic on the sidelines.

Both Teams To Score: Yes

Evens (William Hill)

Wolves have scored in three of four since Lopetegui took charge. They were shut out by Manchester United, but created some opportunities in that game, too.

Liverpool have not kept a clean sheet in their last five fixtures, and it’s no secret they are shakier at the back without Van Dijk.

Both teams to score hasn’t hit that often for these teams throughout the season. Recent trends indicate there is value here, however.

To Be Booked: Ruben Neves

2/1 (Bet365)

Having to cope with Gakpo dropping between the lines and the midfield mastery of Thiago, Ruben Neves could find himself outnumbered at the base of the Wolves midfield.

Neves is a walking yellow card candidate with seven cautions already in the Premier League.

Prone to reckless challenges, Neves might be caught out by Liverpool’s quick transitions. He has made 10 tackles and been booked once in his last three matches against Liverpool.

Anytime Goalscorer: Cody Gakpo

8/5 (Bet365)

Could Cody Gakpo’s Liverpool career get off to a dream start? The Netherlands international is well-rested, having not played since the World Cup.

Gakpo scored three times in Qatar, following on from 12 goals in 19 starts for PSV across the Eredivisie and Europa League.

Expected to start down the middle with Jurgen Klopp likely to rest Darwin Nunez, there’s certainly value here.
