The US Open 2023 will take place at Los Angeles Country Club from June 15 until June 18.
After the merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have dominated Golf’s headlines over the past week or so, the attention returns to events on the course with the third major of the year.
The world’s top players will be bidding to be crowned US Open Champion. 2022 champion Matt Fitzpatrick is set to defend his title, however, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm are the big favourites. Rory McIlroy, despite being consistently ranked alongside the best in the world has not won a major since 2014 and will be hoping to end that drought. Brooks Koepka, the two-time US Open champion and PGA Championship winner, will be determined to make it back-to-back major triumphs.

Scheffler is the bookie’s favourite, followed by Rahm, Koepka and McIIroy. Defending champion Fitzpatrick is rated as an outside bet with prices ranging from 18/1 to 35/1 at the time of writing.

US Open Championship
The United States Open Championship, commonly known as the U.S. Open, is the annual open national championship of golf in the United States. It is the third of the four major championships in golf, and is on the official schedule of both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Since 1898 the competition has been 72 holes of stroke play (4 rounds on an 18-hole course).
It is staged by the United States Golf Association (USGA) in mid-June. The final round is scheduled to take place on the third Sunday in June. The U.S. Open is staged at a variety of courses. They are traditionally set up to make scoring very difficult, with a premium placed on accurate driving. As of 2022, the U.S. Open awards a $17.5 million purse, the largest of all four major championships.
