Tip of The Day -Premier League 10 April

Premier League London derby.

Tip of the day comes from Sky’s Monday night English Premier League offering of a London derby of Crystal Palace v Arsenal.

Palace come here on the back of a defeat to Southampton (3-1). Prior to that they had a fantastic 2-1 victory at champions-elect Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.  They had been on a run of 4 consecutive victories in the Premier League. And, had conceded only 1 goal prior to that defeat at Southampton. Finally Sam Allardyce seems to have got his philosophy and ideas through to this group of players. His big name players - Benteke, Zaha, Townsend and Cabaye are beginning to show their true form. This will be no easy 3 points for Arsenal who must win to maintain their push for a Champions League position.

Arsenal’s problems are well documented. Although some may argue that they appear to have turned the corner in their last 2 matches (2-2 against Manchester City and 3-0 v West Ham Utd). I believe their issues are that some players go missing in the bigger matches. And/or when the going gets tough, this match will potentially be very high paced. I cannot see the likes of Ozil dominating midfield or possession or being given time in midfield to do this. Even though it is what they like to do.  Having said that I can see both teams scoring. The return of Welbeck is a huge positive for Arsenal. It injects more pace to their front line in comparison to the pedestrian Giroud.

My tip if for both teams to score and Crystal Palace to snatch a victory which is generally available around the 6/1 mark, for the braver amongst you I think the scoreline may be 2-1 or 3-1 which is generally available at 14/1 and 33/1 respectively.
