The LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs battle in the SEC Championship with the conference title and college football playoffs on the line. Check out our expert prediction for the game, along with all stats and odds.

The LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs battle in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, to decide who is the SEC Champion this season. This matchup will have major implications as the Georgia Bulldogs are ranked number one and our primed to go to the college football playoffs, but there will be a lot of speculation on if they are kicked out of the top four with a loss and no conference Championship. Meanwhile, just last week LSU were contenders for the college football playoffs, before losing, and now look like they were only playing spoilers.

LSU Tigers Overview

The LSU Tigers will be kicking themselves, as a win against Texas A&M last week and this SEC Championship game would have propelled them into the top four, and even arguably number one ranked contention if they beat the Bulldogs. Now, ranked 14th, the Tigers will likely not get into the playoffs regardless of a win or loss, and they are only able to knock Georgia out and claim ownership of the SEC Championship, which is massive in itself.

The Tigers will be hopeful that quarterback Jayden Daniels can play after his injury against Texas A&M. Daniels is much of the Tigers offense as he leads the team in both passing yards and rushing yards. The Tigers and Head Coach Brian Kelly have to be the best team they have been all season if they want a chance against the Bulldogs.

Georgia Bulldogs Overview

The Georgia Bulldogs are the number one team in college football, and for good reason. The Bulldogs are 12-0, and by far have look like the most complete team in all of college football. Going undefeated in the SEC is as impressive enough, but it’s even more impressive with the dominance that they have done it with.

The Georgia Bulldogs are top 25 in passing yards per game, and in rushing yards per game, 12th in points per game, and have the best defense in the nation. Offensively, Georgia will be looking at quarterback Stetson Bennett to lead them to Victory, as he looks to continue to add to his trophy cabinet as one of the most decorated players in all of college football.

Defensively, Georgia has a supply of first-round picks in this upcoming NFL draft. It is no surprise that a defense that contains the likes of defensive tackle Jalen Carter and defensive back Kelee Ringo, that this Georgia defense only allows 11.3 points per game. LSU’s offense will have to be at peak performance if they want to make this a close match-up.

LSU Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldog Prediction

The Georgia Bulldogs will be coming into this game laser focus, as there’s only one game left that they will need to win before they are going to the college football playoffs. Even with a loss, there is a strong argument that the Bulldogs will go to the playoffs, but an undefeated Georgia team with an SEC Championship will be ranked number one regardless.

The LSU Tigers are a great team, and will give Georgia a fight. However, the Bulldogs have faced some of the top teams in the nation, and have not batted an eye. The key here will be consistency, as LSU can go up and down between weeks, while Georgia, particularly their defense, is as consistent as anything in college football.

Expect the Bulldogs to continue their undefeated streak, and going to the college football playoffs at the SEC Champions, and the number one ranked team in the nation.
